Woluwe-Saint-Pierre - 2012
This bel-étage house was built on an unusual plot of land on the outskirts of Brussels. The back garden runs upwards quite steeply and since the owners are often abroad they have little time for garden maintenance. However, when they are home, they want to be able to get the most out of it. I designed a very practical terrace next to the house, ideal for eating outside with friends. Right at the top I put a cosy lounge area under a huge old pine tree. There is always a spot in the sun. The guest rooms downstairs still get enough daylight thanks to the steel lattice.
