lush garden for an extraordinary house

Tervuren - 2014

For their contemporary, ultra-low energy house Ineke and Ludger went for environmentally-friendly, sustainable solutions. The plans for the garden went down the same path. It looks as if the house has been placed in a patch of uncultivated park. The rhododendrons and indigenous herbs make a great impression and the only upkeep is mowing the lawn and cutting back overgrown plants. The defiant, wild character of the garden is in stark contrast to the
austere architecture of the house. The explosion of colour all around only intensifies the black of the façade.
