No flowers, please, I’m a florist.

Grimbergen - 2020

Els is a florist by day, creating sumptuous bouquets in all colours and fragrances. Her brief was for an understated garden to unwind in after a hard day’s work. This translated into a flower-less garden with the emphasis on ornamental grasses, white poplar, evergreen oak and silverberry. The contrast between the subdued dimensions of the garden and the sleek lines of the concrete house couldn’t be greater. We chose trees with white-grey leaves to create a particularly subtle contrast where house and garden become ageless.
